The Institute of Infection and Immunity is committed to engaging with the public locally, nationally and internationally.

We regularly invite members of the public into our institute. Members of the local community are welcome to visit our laboratories, so they can see how we conduct our research and get close to the cutting edge of science.

Many research staff are involved in inspiring young people in science through visits to local schools, where they discuss their research with budding young scientists.

Spotlight on Science

The Institute is involved in ‘Spotlight on Science’ evenings, which highlight ongoing research to visitors from the local community, and also further afield.

Patient and public involvement initiatives

We involve the public in developing our research programmes through patient and public involvement initiatives. These schemes allow the public to see what we do, but also adds great value to the institute, changing what we do, how we do it, and how we think about our research.

External events

We have taken part in the Chelsea Flower Show and the London Design Festival Biodesign project.
