St George's and City have merged. Find out more.

St George’s welcomes mature students on all our courses. In fact, many of our courses are designed to help people, like you, access new careers. These include accelerated study options on our paramedic sciences course, tailored entry options into physiotherapy, and our four-year medical degree that is designed to help mature students train to be doctors.

Applying

We welcome applications from mature students. There is no upper age limit for any of our courses as we are looking for the best students regardless of their age. Many different qualifications are acceptable although it is always better to check. Here at St George’s we do take life experience into account, although you must meet the requirements for a course. Entry requirements can be found on our undergraduate and postgraduate course listings.

Please contact our student recruitment team if you have any questions about applying to St George’s.

Accommodation

Mature students often choose to live in their own home while studying with us. However, if you choose to apply to our halls of residence, undergraduate and international postgraduate students are prioritised for a place in their first year. Most, if not all, of these students will secure a room at Horton Halls.

Accommodation information for students with families

If you are moving to London as a couple or with your family, there is plenty of private accommodation to rent in the local area. We advise you to come to London on your own before starting your course, to find somewhere suitable for you and your family to live. We can't offer accommodation for couples, children or family members, but do recommend International Students House or the University of London's Property Management Unit as suitable alternatives.

Student support

Our student support services are available for all students and include academic support from personal tutors, careers support and disability support. Find out more about the support available. The St George’s Students' Union runs the Student Parents and Carers Empowered (SPACE) group, which is dedicated to supporting all student parents and carers throughout their studies at St George’s.

For more information, or if you have any queries about studying at George’s as a parent, you can email the association at space@su.sgul.ac.uk.
