Welcome to MSc Physiotherapy (Pre-Reg)

Congratulation on getting on to the MSc Physiotherapy (Pre-Reg) programme. We are looking forward to you joining us here at St Georges University of London on the 29 August 2023.

Starting an MSc course to become a Physiotherapist comes with lots of excitement but also some unknowns. This summer, having had discussions with our current students, and hearing their thoughts and concerns prior to starting the course, we decided to record some videos to give you a sense of what you will experience on the programme.

The first video is myself, your Course Director, Saskia Walker, discussing the academic side of the course and then there is a video from two current students on their experience of the first year of MSc Physiotherapy.

What can I do to prepare?

This is a common question, as talked about in the video by Junior and Brinley. They make good suggestion that you could review some musculoskeletal anatomy-a tip would be to focus on a joint like the knee- think about muscle, ligament and bones involved.

Other useful resources are:

The Khan Academy website has some useful introduction modules to the human body. Introduction to human body systems | Health and medicine | Khan AcademyUnits 1-5, 8-9, 11 are worth looking at.

The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy | The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (csp.org.uk)To develop your understanding of physiotherapy profession.

We look forward to meeting you soon!
