 Entry requirements

  • Medicine MBBS and International Medicine BSc/MBBS
    • In the HK DSE, grades 5,5,5,5 in biology, chemistry, maths and English.

    • We also request that you submit your grade 10 and 11 results for our consideration.

  • Biomedical Science BSc (Hons)/MSci
    • In the HK DSE, grades 5,4,4,4 in biology, chemistry, maths and English with the grade 5 being in either biology or chemistry.

    • We also request that you submit your grade 10 and 11 results for our consideration.

  • BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy
    • In the HK DSE, grades 5,4,4,4 including maths and English. Sciences or physical education may be helpful but not essential.

  • Postgraduate/graduate entry

    All of our postgraduate/graduate entry courses require a second class lower division degree. The exceptions are International Graduate Medicine MBBS and Physiotherapy MSc which require a second class upper division degree. All students graduating with a bachelor’s degree from Hong Kong will be expected to have continued to honours level.

  • English language

    Please see below for the most common English language qualifications in Hong Kong. For alternative qualifications, please visit the relevant course web pages or contact us at global@sgul.ac.uk.

    • Medicine (MBBS) courses, Physiotherapy BSc (Hons), Diagnostic Radiography BSc (Hons), Genomic Medicine MSc, Physiotherapy MSc: IELTS 7.0 with at least 7.0 in Writing and, 6.5 in Speaking, Reading and Listening or HK DSE grade 5 in English

    • Biomedical Science BSc (Hons)/MSci, Biomedical Science MRes, Sports Cardiology MSc, Applied Exercise for Health MSc and Rehabilitation MSc: IELTS 6.5 with at least 6.0 in each skill or HK DSE grade 5 in English.
