Welcome to the home of the Shared Connections Working Group. This group is formed of staff from across professional and technical service areas who have come together to discuss different aspects of professional life at St George's. We operate under three workstreams: Career Progression, Understanding St George's, and Wellbeing and Social.

Here you will find out about the work we do to support professional development at St George's - including details of our Shared Connections Development Day, events, and new starter tours.

Shared Connections Development Day

Shared Connections is our annual development day for professional services staff working at St George’s.

Our inaugural event was launched in June 2022 to support the working group’s aims of developing stronger links between teams and creating opportunities for staff to get involved.

Understanding St George's

Whether you are a new member of staff or have been working at St George’s for years, the Shared Connections working group is here to help you orientate yourself and understand our organisation.

The Understanding St George’s workstream also investigates how we can form stronger links between individual teams and have a deeper understanding of how the university runs. We aim to break down silos and encourage networking, in addition to exposing opportunities to get involved and feel like a valuable member of our St George’s Community.

Navigating our website

There are some great pages on the St George’s website for understanding our institution. Under the About tab on the website header you will find links to pages on the University’s Leadership Team, our EDI initiatives, and our institutional strategy. You can also read more about the history of St George’s and familiarise yourself with the courses that we offer.
