Our first Spotlight on Science lecture of 2017 will be on the subject of the law and ethics of assisted suicide.
Join our experts for a presentation and discussion on assisted suicide with a strong emphasis on the law. This event will be led by Dr Carwyn Hooper, Senior Lecturer in Medical Ethics and Law.
The event will explain the legal status of assisted suicide in England, identify recent challenges, and discuss the argument of whether the UK should change its laws.
Following recent changes in Canadian law, the event will also discuss international legal developments in relation to assisted suicide and engage in a discussion about the ethical aspects of this topical issue.
