Applying for a visa outside of the UK

Applying for a visa is a complex process. Read our advice on if you need to apply for a visa and general information about Tier 4. Find out how to apply for your visa and all the financial documentation you'll need to make your application.

Extending your visa within the UK

You may be eligible to extend you visa whilst in the UK. Read more about visa extensions and what the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) and Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAA) are. Get information on 'low risk' nationals and the evidence of funds and financial documents required.

There are exceptions but generally students coming from outside the UK need to hold a recognised English language qualification to be admitted to study in this country.
