Dr Nicholas Renwick

Lecturer in Anatomical Sciences
Delivery of anatomy lectures and practical sessions to undergraduate and postgraduate students

Dr Renwick joined St George's University in 2023. He has a BSc in Anatomical Sciences from the University of Bristol, an MSc in Physiotherapy from the University of Birmingham, and a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Leeds. Dr Renwick has been an Anatomy Demonstrator at the University of Leeds for four years, teaching via whole-body cadaveric dissection, prosections, surface anatomy, and clinically orientated tutorials. He has also practised clinically as a physiotherapist within London, Melbourne and Sydney throughout a broad array of clinical areas including musculoskeletal/sports, older adults, paediatrics, orthopaedics, intensive care, respiratory, oncology, and general medicine.

 

In his current role at SGUL, Dr Renwick delivers lectures and practical sessions on musculoskeletal anatomy (upper limb, lower limb and the back and vertebral column) to undergraduate and postgraduate students. His previous research investigated the acute and chronic physiological responses of eccentric exercise within young and older adults, and the feasibility of utilising eccentric exercise within exercise-intolerant clinical populations such as COPD and CHF.
