About the network
The SGUL Young Staff Network was established at St George’s University of London to support staff in Professional and Technical Services who are at the start of their careers or are beginning new careers in Higher Education. The aim of the group is to be a supportive space for younger staff in the organisation to meet, socialise, and share useful resources on continuous professional development.
Through monthly meetings and organised social activities, the Network seeks to:
- Facilitate a supportive network for younger staff members working within Professional and Technical Services at the University.
- Enable discussions on issues affecting younger members of staff and seek to represent these members of staff across the organisation.
- Provide opportunities for younger staff members to meet, socialise, and share their personal experiences.
The SGUL Young Staff Network is an informal network and does not have a formal system of membership or structure. Any individual who meets the criteria outlined below are welcome to attend.
The Network is for:
- Any permanent or temporary employee of St George’s University of London working in a directorate within Professional and Technical Services.
- Considers themselves in the younger staff bracket (typically those under 30 years of age; however, anyone who feels that they would benefit from membership is welcome to attend).
- OR is starting a new career in Higher Education and would benefit from the support of this network.
