Umbrella with 5 themes

Research

This project hopes to research student neurodivergent disclosure and to explore challenges relating to medical school learning and clinical placements.

Focus on Being 'Workplace Ready'

A significant focus of the project is preparing students to be 'workplace ready.' This involves learning from others, support for self-preparation, and guidance on life adjustments for wellbeing, the project helps students manage their conditions effectively.  The hope is for students to learn from each other and neurodivergent medical professionals.

Workstreams

Teaching

Work is in place to develop teaching on neurodiversity within MBBS, adopting a 'joined up' approach to ensure a flow of effective learning throughout the curriculum.

Networking

Joanne has set up a Special Interest group for educators in medical schools in UK and Ireland interested in sharing teaching, support and research on neurodiversity.

Neurodiversity will also be a round table discussion and the UK Clinical Communication Conferenceon 14 and 15  April, held at Clerkenwell campus.
