Overview

The Professional Education Centre is responsible for the management and development of all CPD and standalone modules. We work in close collaboration with both the Course Leads and CTiE team members to deliver a wide range of flexible learning aimed at those that are in their professional careers. 

What we do

The departmental objective is to concentrate on expanding and coordinating a portfolio of standalone modules, short courses and CPD provision as well as provide learners new innovate and flexible ways to meet their career goals.

We welcome any new short course applications from prospective course leads who are eager to develop a new course. The course team are happy to provide any advice and guidance required. Our short course portfolio consists of the following:

  • CPD courses. A mix of courses that are Face to Face or Hybrid. These are often accredited by an external body, such as; Royal College of Physicians
  • Standalone modules. A mix of Level 6 and Level 7 credit bearing modules. These courses are Face to Face or Hybrid.

Key Team Members

Nikki George

Nikki is the Professional Education Manager who leads and manages the operational development of the Centre for Professional Education. She has significant experience in Higher Education and has enjoys working in collaboration with Course Leads and CTiE members of staff to identify and develop new educational opportunities in health and science.

Alva Chung

Alva is the Professional Education Administrator for the Professional Education Centre at the University, with the focus in managing the operation of various professional healthcare and medical short courses. Her responsibility ranges from setting promotion strategy, pre-course preparation, to overseeing course logistics, and conducting comprehensive reviews with a broad array of stakeholders. She is dedicated to deliver high quality services throughout the training process and further expand the education portfolio to wider audiences.
