I started a pottery class just over a year ago and have become completely hooked. Throwing a pot (or bowl or cup) at the wheel requires my complete concentration. When my first wobbly bowl didn’t collapse, I was triumphant. Now, I find the process mindful and a perfect antidote to the world of General Practice. The word ‘skill’ so appropriate to each of these roles. In this piece I attempt to describe themes from Primary Care which are brought to mind for me by my creative pursuit of pottery; that of transformation, resilience, fragility and the classifications we navigate on a daily basis.
