St George's and City have merged. Find out more.

If you are new to St George’s, University of London, welcome! We hope you enjoy working here. This page aims to give you and your manager an overview of the information you will need during your first few months of joining the university.

Getting started

When you join St George’s, you should discuss with your manager the induction and training you require to perform your role. Our induction checklist (Word) outlines the areas that should be covered as part of your induction.

Read our How to Arrrive and Thrive Guide (PDF) which, as well as including information for Research and Academic staff, has been updated to include information for Professional and Technical staff. It provides a central reference point for queries for both new and existing staff. It also gives a useful overview of our Directorates and Institutes across St George’s and the services they provide.

The Guide is aiming to fulfil a dual purpose – being a welcome guide to new research and academic staff arriving to St George’s, dealing with some of the most frequently asked questions and helping new staff settle into their roles; and also acting as a helpful day-to-day reference of services on offer for current staff.
