A few simple precautions can help you prevent your machine or your work from being infected by a virus. Here are our top tips.

  • Do not open files attached to emails if you are at all unsure as to what the file is, or if the sender is unknown to you.

  • Do not download files from the internet unless you are sure they are from a legitimate/reputable source.

  • Always make sure your important documents/files are backed up, preferably to your home directory (H: drive).
