Reading lists
Check your Canvas module for a link to 'My Reading List', a reading list system at St George's which help you find books, chapters, journal articles and other resources recommended by your course teams to support your studies
At the time of writing, 'My Reading List' is being introduced in a phased approach across St George's modules so may not be available for all courses at this stage. In these cases, look out for a link to 'Module resources' or 'Resource Lists' on your Canvas modules and you can search for the items by author or title Hunter.
Contact the library for more details.
Print books
To find a print book in the library, you will need to take note of the book’s call number, which will be listed in the item record in Hunter. This will be a series of letters and numbers which correspond with the location of the book on the shelves. The call number will be listed on the spine of the book.
Use the self-service machines in the library to borrow books.
Print journals
Most of our journals are available electronically. Some titles are available in print as well. You can browse the latest issues of our print collection in the quiet group study area located between the silent study areas towards the back of the library.
Back issues of our print collection are located in the silent study. These issues are reference only.
Older issues, pre-1975, may be stored in the archives. To request one of these items, speak to a member of library helpdesk staff. We collect items from the archive twice weekly on Tuesday and Friday. These items are reference only.
Theses
Some theses are available online by searching within ‘Books and more’ in Hunter.
To view a print thesis, please complete a Theses and Archive Materials Request Form. We aim to make theses available within five working days and you will be notified by email once it is ready for collection. Please note that theses are reference only and must be looked at in the Library. Please ensure that you have washed your hands before handling a thesis.
