Due to the current working environment all courses/programmes will be delivered online. If you are signing up for a course or programme please read our guidance and expectations (PDF)
All staff but please read the course overview and objectives carefully as some courses are designed specifically for targeted groups. We also have arrangements in place for key university partners to access training and development where appropriate.
Please look at the programme above to see the courses that we offer. Consider which courses are relevant to your development in your role, or progression into future roles. Discuss with your line manager in your regular one-to-ones or as part of your personal review so that you have an agreed personal development plan. Some training may not be available in house or a course might not be the best development option.
Courses take place in the Jenner and Hunter buildings. Please check the information you receive when booking your course and in the confirmation email you receive to confirm you place, as both will contain information regarding the location, time and date.
The majority of our courses and programmes are managed through booking in self-service under Career and Development in MyWorkplace. You will need to search for the course by name to book your place or add yourself to the waiting list. Most learning events (courses, workshops, modular programmes) are booked on a first-come, first-served basis and will be confirmed by email notification from MyWorkplace. Download our guidance on how to book onto a learning event (PDF).
If you are unable to attend a booked learning event, please unbook your place and cancel yourself from the course. Please do this as soon as possible; last-minute cancellations impact the course costs as we have to order resources, refreshments etc, in advance. If you fail to turn up for a course, your record will show ‘non-attendance’ and your manager will be informed.
After completing most of our courses, you will receive an email containing a link to an online feedback form. This gives you opportunity to provide anonymous feedback on the course content, the quality of training and the administration we provide. We appreciate you taking the time to complete these, particularly if there are aspects of the course or event that need attention. If you want to pass on comments at any stage, please contact us.
