Your views, your NSS!

Fill in the National Student Survey (NSS) 2025 before 30 April 2025.

We run a focused survey period, but nationally the NSS starts on 8 January and closes on 30 April. Look out for City St George's NSS 2025 campaign between 27 January to 28 February.

About the National Students Survey (NSS)

The National Student Survey (NSS) is a survey of all final year undergraduates in the UK and it gathers students’ opinions on the quality of their courses.

The survey is conducted by Ipsos MORI, an independent research agency. It is commissioned by the Office for Students (OfS) on behalf of the UK funding and regulatory bodies in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland.

Delivered each year, the survey gathers students’ opinions on the quality of their courses, including learning resources, organisation, student voice. This helps to:

  • inform prospective students’ choices
  • provide data that guides institutions’ actions to improve student experience
  • support public accountability.

Improvements at St George's from NSS feedback

The survey makes a tangible difference to the experience students have at university and college. It helps us understand what is - and isn't - working for you during your time at City St George’s, and how we can improve the student experience.

It also helps identify what needs improving within the student experience. As a result of previous feedback from the NSS we have been able to implement the following changes:

  • Improved facilities such as the Curve Lecture Theatre and Student Life Centre
  • Developed stronger student-staff partnership through the Student Advisors initiative
  • Increased library access by extending opening hours
  • Expanded study spaces on campus
  • Enhanced careers support
  • Strengthened avenues for student feedback through Unitu and Student Staff Committees

When you will be invited to complete the NSS

If you’re a Final Year student, you’ll receive an email from Ipsos Mori which will contain your unique link to the survey. You will be able to complete the survey until midnight on 30 April 2025.
The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.

As a way of saying thank you for your time and feedback, you will be entered into a prize draw. Ten lucky winners will each receive £100, which will be paid directly to your bank account through institutional bank transfer.

It is important that eligible students can complete the survey without being influenced in any way. If you have any concerns about this, please contact Dr Marcus Jackson, Associate Dean for Student Experience or the Student Union in the first instance.
