Yes indeed. For MBBS cohorts, we’re using the MSCAA portal to provide your exams online. For all other courses, any exams will be provided on Canvas. On both systems, we can add additional time for all students who require it and have it approved as part of their Summary of Support Needs (SOSN).

Yes you will. You will receive the maximum amount of time for rest breaks in online exams (i.e 15 mins per hour). If you have both additional time and rest breaks, you will receive both your additional time plus 15mins per hour rest breaks.

While Canvas does have Microsoft’s Immersive Reader, it unfortunately only works on the Pages tab.

Here is a link from Canvas, explaining which screen reader programme it supports to use for both Mac and PC, while it also tells you which browser to use the programmes with.

The MSCAA portal lets you change the background colour, while Canvas doesn’t have its own screen colouring software.

This link is a recommended browser extension that can be useful for exams and other work. It has features such as dyslexia fonts, changing the font & background colour, overlays and much more.
