St George's alumna Dr Priya Kadam has recently been named the runner up for Outstanding Foundation Year 2 (F2) trainee of the year by Plymouth NHS Trust.

Priya, who studied Medicine at St George's between 2016 and 2021, also received the award of Outstanding Foundation Doctor of the Year by University Hospitals Plymouth and Health Education England last year.

Really touching

Speaking on her most recent achievement, Priya says:

My clinical and educational supervisors nominated me for the award as they had seen my progress over the year. It was really touching to be named runner up as I knew that some of my input to the wards and daily team working could not necessarily be quantified. To then realise that it had made a difference was very gratifying.

"I found out that I had been made runner up at the end of F2. It's a privilege to receive the award especially in addition to the recognition of being nominated, and winning, Outstanding Foundation Doctor of the Year last year."

Quite a journey

It's been quite a journey since graduating from St George's. From beginning a career during Covid to completing foundation in a new area of the country, but it's been a life changing experience.

"It is really nice to have a continued relationship with St George's as a clinical tutor and I look forward to the adventures yet to come."

Many congratulations to Priya for her outstanding achievement.
