A massive thank you to every member of our alumni community who engaged with our 2024 telethon campaign.

We are extremely grateful to the 825 alumni who had a conversation with our students contributing advice, career journeys, insights, and generous donations.

This year’s telethon concluded on Sunday 2 June and raised an incredible total, all of which will go towards student causes. On behalf of all the students who will benefit from this – thank you very much for your kindness and generosity. It is a great testimony to the St George’s spirit.

Much of the money donated will go to the Fund for St George’s – the university’s discretionary fund which offers flexible financial support where it is needed most. This need may be pastoral - such as counselling support for students who need it - or academic - such as assistance with attending academic conferences that would otherwise be inaccessible. With the increased costs of living as a student, particularly in London, your contributions will ensure all our students can continue to thrive while at St George’s. We sincerely thank you.

Mandy Sheriff, Associate Director of Development and Alumni at St George’s, says:

“We have been blown away by the generosity of our alumni during the telethon campaign. Thank you so much to all those who participated in any capacity. Your donations allow us to continue to support as many students as possible in their journey to becoming the healthcare workforce of the future, and the careers advice you provided was invaluable to our student callers.”

Beyond monetary contributions, our student callers have also greatly appreciated hearing the insights, advice and counsel provided by alumni.

One such student caller is 2nd year Clinical Pharmacology student Rosemary Ndara who says:

"Speaking to alumni and hearing about their experiences was really insightful, especially when I heard about the jobs or further research that they pursued after St George’s. It was really encouraging.”

If you have not already done so, you can make a donation to support the Fund for St George’s or Hardship Fund here. You can also read more about the impact of donor support here.
