St George’s applications for clearing opening online
Published: 12 August 2020
Applications for clearing at St George’s, University of London, will be opening online on Thursday 13th August.
For the first time, this year, St George’s will be one of a small group of universities taking a “digital-first” approach to clearing, with students filling out an online application form.
Applicants will be able to apply for courses by entering their details into an online form, which will then be assessed by University’s clearing team. Applicants can expect a prompt email reply to confirm their application has been received, and the team will then aim to respond by email or phone within one working day.
The new system marks a step away from the traditional use of phonelines and will enable the University to handle more applications. The switch will also remove the need for applicants to wait on hold to speak to someone in the call centre.
In order to apply, prospective students will just need to make sure they have their UCAS personal ID number and exam results to hand (including UCAT or GAMSAT scores for Medicine applications), as well as their contacts details and the name of the course they want to apply for. Full details of how to apply can be found on the Clearing and Adjustment webpage.
While the switch to online applications will be beneficial for most applicants, the University will still have people waiting on the phoneline to speak to those who may have difficulty with filling out the forms online.
The full range of courses available for clearing can be found online, as well as guidance on preparing for clearing and adjustment and for remote interviews.
