St George's, University of London was named runner up in the Specialist University of the Year 2025 category of the Times University Awards. It has also increased its position in this year’s Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide ranking to 69th in the UK and 12th in London, as well as ranking third in the UK for Graduate Outcomes.

Increases in positivity in the National Student Survey (NSS) from 65.6% to 78.6% in teaching quality and 60.9% to 69% in student experience, were a key contributing factor to our progress in the overall ranking.

City, University of London has formally merged with St George’s, University of London, creating City St George’s, University of London, a powerful multi-faculty institution with a distinctive focus on professional education and research at the frontier of practice. League tables will list City and St George’s separately until Spring next year when UCAS begins listing the combined University as a single institution.

City, University of London also increased its position in the rankings this year to 49th in the UK, moving up 17 places. City was ranked 8th in London.

The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2025 provides detailed online profiles for 134 universities covering research reputation to campus facilities, scholarships and bursaries, and nightlife. The ranking is based on recent data and evaluates factors including satisfaction with teaching quality and the student experience through to degree completion rates and graduate employment prospects.

St George’s and City have also increased their ranking in the other league tables released to mark the start of the new academic year such as the Daily Mail University Guide.
