His research interests include analysing and exploiting linkage of large national databases of routinely collected medical data, in order to carry out epidemiological studies. Currently this involves a project investigating diabetes, ethnicity and the risk of infections. Recent work has included the impact of bereavement in the elderly and investigating health checks and the quality of health care for adults with learning disability.
