We are building a positive research culture at St George's where researchers feel empowered to do their best work and develop their career.
We're putting £5.8 million of Office for Students funding towards improving facilities and equipment for our students.
Deep brain stimulation has revealed that a specific type of brain wave activity is associated with levels of anxiety in people living with Parkinson’s disease.
Your gift to St George’s will inspire our students, our research, and our community, and ultimately impact the patients who will benefit from the care and expertise of our graduates around the world.

Dr Louise Hill joined St George’s in 2015 and is a Clinical Lecturer in Paediatric Infectious Diseases.
Louise previously co-ordinated the European Commission FP7 funded NeoVanc trial which compared an optimised and standard course of vancomycin in neonates with confirmed/suspected Gram-positive late onset sepsis. Louise led on the microbiological sub-analyses and she is the co-chief investigator for the NeoVanc long-term follow up study, which focusses on hearing outcomes in babies recruited to the main trial.
Louise is currently involved in several global paediatric and neonatal antibiotic/antiseptic randomised controlled trials including NeoSep1, NeoVTAMR and PediCAP.
Louise is the module co-lead for the Clinical Trials module as part of the SGUL MSc in Applied Biomedical Science.
Louise’s research interests include improving outcomes in neonatal sepsis, particularly in low- and middle- income settings, and strategic antibiotic trials.
Louise has a particular interest in coagulase negative staphylococci (CoNS) which were the focus of her PhD. Her research has included investigating outcomes in septic neonates by CoNS species, as well as characterising resistance patterns by species including evaluating vancomycin heteroresistance in invasive isolates.
