The QPD has a particular responsibility for St George’s, University of London's quality assurance framework and for ensuring that St George’s approach is compliant with the regulatory requirements, including those set out by the Quality Assurance Agency and professional, statutory and regulatory bodies.
As part of its work, the QPD manages the Turing scheme at St George’s and serves as the designated contact for the purposes of the scheme. The aim of the scheme is to provide students with financial support for international education and training opportunities, enabling them to benefit from overseas experience, boosting their employability and helping them to develop a wide range of skills. It also encourages students to build relationships, share ideas and have enriching adventures.
QPD has an institution wide responsibility for operational excellence by working with the Chief Operating Officer on designing and delivering Operational Excellence Projects that are aligned to the needs of the organisation and delivering the operational plan. QPD undertakes business process reviews and mapping, and develops and implements associated changes across the University that improve operational efficiency, organisation and management. Incorporated into any change is a process to ensure service quality is monitored and enhanced.
Within the university, the QPD is a resource for all staff on matters of quality and partnerships and provides a range of support activities across the organisation.
