From: Professor Jodi Lindsay
Dear REF eligible colleagues,
Just a quick update to confirm that the submission date of the REF2021, which was November 27 2020, has been delayed. When the new date is announced, we will have at least 8 months to submit.
REF2021 has confirmed that staff employed on the census date of July 31 2020 and meeting the eligibility criteria will be returned. In contrast, the census dates for publication of outputs and impact for impact cases are not yet confirmed.
We continue with our REF preparations, but are pausing some areas and pressing on with others. We are particularly focused on taking pressure off staff with NHS commitments, critical work for the university and those that are ill or covering for others.
Open Access requirements remain, so please continue to upload your papers into CRIS and SORA as soon as possible. I also encourage you to ensure your ORCID account is active, up-to-date and visible to all.
On a final note, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that took part in the mock REF by choosing and commenting on their strongest papers. We had a very good turnout, and your help is very much appreciated. Those that volunteered to be internal reviewers for outputs we thank you for your patience, the exercise will continue but we will be extending the timelines.
As always, if you have any questions please ask. I welcome your feedback.
Best wishes
Jodi
Academic Lead for REF2021
