St George's and City have merged. Find out more.

If you are interested in undergraduate study for 2024, please visit our Explore St George’s page.

You must have your results and be registered with UCAS to apply through Clearing.

Please note, that if you are holding an offer already, you can apply to St George's for a Clearing place. However, please note that it will not be possible to process a formal UCAS Clearing offer. unless applicants are no longer holding their pre-existing UCAS offers.

Clearing applications need to be made online via our website. Once we have received your application, we will review it and process it. During this time, we may need to contact you for further details so please ensure you provide a working mobile number on the form and ensure this phone is accessible during working hours, once you have submitted your application.

If you’re applying for a course which requires an interview, please note that when we call you, we may offer you an interview that same day. Learn more about the Clearing interview process.

If we are able to make you a Clearing offer, we will send you an email with instructions on how to refer yourself to us on UCAS Track at the appropriate time. Applying via our online Clearing form, and/or being invited to attend an interview are not considered an offer to study so you should not add us as your Clearing choice on UCAS Track before you receive an instruction to do so. Adding us on UCAS Track too early will delay your application.

How do I apply?

Clearing applications must be made online. Please do not call the university unless you are having trouble submitting the online application form.

Once you have your results, follow the process below to apply through Clearing.

The application process

Register on UCAS

Once you are registered, and if you are eligible, you will have the opportunity to enter Clearing in UCAS.

If you held offers from the main cycle and are not sure whether you’re eligible for Clearing you can check on your UCAS Track whether you’ve secured your firm or insurance choice.

Fill out application form

Once Clearing opens, you can submit your application via the application form on our website.

You will need the following information:

  • Your 10-digit UCAS Personal ID number
  • Your Level 2 (GCSEs or equivalent) and Level 3 (A Level or equivalent) results, or your degree result
  • UCAT (for Medicine applications, if there are places available)
  • Your email address (please use the email address your UCAS account is linked to)
  • A contact telephone number (please ensure you have easy access to this phone during your application process)
  • Which course you want to apply for

Our step by step guide explains how to complete the Clearing application form.

After you submit this form, you will receive an email confirming that we have received your application. You can only apply for one course at a time, each new application will overwrite the previous application and reset your progress in the Clearing process.

Look out for an email or call from us

Our Clearing Team will review your application and aim to get in touch within 1 working day via phone or email. Please make sure your phone number is correct on your application form and you keep your mobile on you.

We hope to call you with an offer to study with us but there could be other reasons, such as:

  • you may be invited to a remote interview
  • we might discuss an alternative course with you
  • you may be asked for further information about your application.

If your application is unsuccessful (whether before or after the interview phase) we will notify you by email.
