Fees and funding

The Postgraduate Master’s Loan is designed to be a contribution towards the costs associated with undertaking a Master’s course.

Eligible students can apply for a Postgraduate Master’s Loan of up to £12,167 for the course to help towards tuition fees and living costs. The funding, available through Student Finance England, may also be available to students who are completing an intercalated year at Master's level.

You do not have to start repaying this loan until your income is over the threshold amount for your repayment plan.

Please note that if you are studying Occpuational Therapy (Pre-registration) MSc or Physiotherapy (Pre-registration) MSc you should apply for the undergraduate package of student finance and the NHS Learning Support Fund (more details below). 

If you have a disability, long-term health condition, mental health condition or specific learning difficulty (for example dyslexia) you may be eligible to apply for Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA). Eligible students can receive DSA on top of any other student finance received.  DSA is non-income assessed and does not need to be repaid.

DSA can get help with the cost of:

• specialist equipment, for example a computer if you need one because of your disability
• non-medical helpers, for example a British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter or a specialist note taker
• extra travel to attend your course or placement because of your disability
• other disability-related study support

We are delighted to offer St George’s alumni a tuition fee discount of 10% on our courses. Those students who secure a scholarship are able to apply the discount to any remaining tuition.

To be eligible for an alumni discount you must:

• Be self-funded – courses fully funded by the NHS or students receiving employer or sponsor funding will not be eligible for the alumni discount.
• Have completed a degree awarded by St George's, University of London. Please note that short courses and individual modules are not eligible. 

The NHS Learning Support Fund provides financial support to eligible students undertaking pre-registration courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Eligible Occupational Therapy (Pre-registration) MSc and Physiotherapy (Pre-registration) MSc students can apply for:

• a non-income assessed training grant of £5,000 per academic year
• non-income assessed parental support of £2,000 per academic year, if you have at least one dependant child under 15 years, or under 17 years if they are registered with special educational needs
