We are now part of City St George's, University of London. This website contains information relating to our Tooting campus. Please visit our new website to learn more about what we offer across all our campuses.

Good content on the web is easy to navigate. Always add structure to your page with subheadings that are:

  • ordered – heading levels cannot be skipped as this is confusing for users with screen readers
  • clear and concise – keep them short and write in an active voice, “Access the St George’s website”
  • logical – each subheading should follow the previous (H1 to H2 to H2 or H3 etc) and each section should also make sense if the subheading was removed
  • written in sentence case.

Here's an example of how you could use subheadings to structure a course page.

Page title: Apply for a course

  • H2: Overview
    • H3: Highlights

  • H2: Entry Criteria

    • H3: GCSEs

    • H3: A Levels

    • H3: International Baccalaureate

  • H2: Modules
    • H3: Year 1 modules

    • H3: Year 2 modules

    • H3: Year 3 modules

  • H2: Careers

    • H3: Careers support

  • H2: Apply

    • H3: Deadlines
