The development initiative, run by Advance HE, is aimed at all people who identify as a woman. The programme includes development days, action learning sets, self-directed learning that complements the key themes and supports participants’ own development needs, and in-house mentoring from the sponsoring organisation.
Aurora addresses core areas associated with leadership success:
understanding organisations and the sector
developing leadership behaviours, skills and knowledge
identifying and overcoming barriers and obstacles
growing confidence and a leadership identity
building networks, coalitions and support processes.
Application for this programme is advertised annually at St George’s and the application process is launched in May/June. The deadline for applications will be the end of August and offers will be made in September. To make an enquiry regarding this programme, email staff development.

Advance HE offers structured modular opportunities for those in leadership positions, from programme leaders to vice-chancellors. To find a course or programme to suit your needs please look at their programme and event calendar.
The purpose of this course is to give participants the opportunity to explore the role, responsibilities and competencies required of line managers at St George’s and to give them the opportunity to reflect on the direction of their career.
We run this programme twice a year. To book onto this one-day course, go to the staff development event schedule.
