Investing in cross-disciplinary translational research is critical to delivering high standards of clinical care for patients. In partnership with St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, we have established four Clinical Academic Groups (CAGs) in cardiovascular diseases, neuroscience, infectious diseases and genomic medicine. These are subjects where both University and University Hospital are extremely strong with an international reputation for excellence.
Our researchers are deciphering the mechanisms underlying cardiovascular disorders, improving patient diagnosis, risk stratification, treatment and outcomes.
Through established partnerships our Genomics Clinical Academic Group is already demonstrating the direct benefits to patients of working together.
Recognising Infection as a key strength within the University and Trust, our Infection CAG is tackling infections from HIV to tuberculosis and coronaviruses
From molecular research through mathematical modelling and linguistics, to surgery and physiotherapy, our Neurosciences CAG includes fundamental scientists, neurologists, neurophysiotherapists, neurosurgeons and neuroradiologists.
Find out about the CAG's joint symposiums which are held on a regular basis as an opportunity to share research, hear about new clinical services in each area and encourage collaboration.
