(Not applicable for Biomedical Science BSc/MSci and Clinical Pharmacology BSc.)

• Meet your Occupational Health check requirements. This can be done in one of two ways:

  • If you submitted and passed an occupational health check last year, and nothing has changed in your health over the past year, you can complete a declaration to prevent you from having to do another check. Please complete the Occupational Health Declaration Registration form and you will receive a request to complete the declaration within two weeks.
  • If you have not previously passed an occupational health check with St George's, or something in your health has changed in the last year, please submit a new occupational health check.

• Meet your DBS check requirement. This can be done in one of two ways:

  • If you completed a DBS check last year, and have signed up to the Update Service, please email us a copy of your most recent DBS certificate with an email giving permission for us to check your DBS status against the Update Service. If you have the correct coverage and are signed up to the Update Service, you may be exempt from obtaining another DBS check.
  • If you have not previously obtained a DBS check for St George's and joined the Update Service, or you have previously lived outside of the UK while over the age of 18, please follow the instructions to obtain a new UK DBS check, and/or overseas criminal record check if you have lived abroad.

Do you require a visa to study?

• If you will require a visa to study in the UK, visit our Visa and Immigration Support pages where we have detailed information on the visa process.

Ahead of enrolment, you will be asked to upload a copy of your academic certificates and ID documents to the Applicant Portal. This is an important part of preparing to start at St George's.

You will need to upload the following documents:

For all applicants

• Proof of identification (e.g. passport, driving license)
• English Language tests (if applicable)
• A signed Student Entry Agreement (a blank copy will be sent to you ahead of enrolment)

For non-graduate applicants

• GCSE certificates 
• Any Level 3 qualifications (such as A Level, IB etc.) taken in previous years
• Any other UCAS tariffiable qualifications

You do not need to upload A Level, IB, BTEC, Access, or Scottish Higher qualifications that were taken this year.

For graduate applicants

• Undergraduate degree certificate(s)
• Postgraduate degree certificate(s) (if applicable)

You will receive an email at the right time to do this. In the meantime, please gather your certificates so you have them ready.

Please note, you may be required to present some of the original documents again at enrolment. We will confirm this with you by email before enrolment.

Please contact our Disability Advisor as soon as possible with details to help us establish whether your health history or disability is likely to affect your ability to study or practise. This will also give us sufficient time to carry out a detailed assessment, obtain reports and organise additional expert assessments if required.

There are very few reasons why someone cannot study with us, but occasionally our Disability Advisor or a member of the St George's Trust's Occupational Health department may advise that an applicant is not fit to study immediately which could result in a deferral or a withdrawal. 

All of our courses include elements of teaching for which you will be required to attend the University site and attendance at these sessions will be essential to enable you to engage with the course and undertake assessments.

You will be required to undertake a personal risk assessment before you can attend any placements or undertake certain activities, such as those which include the practice of clinical skills or require the use of PPE. Where a health concern arises, every effort will be made to identify alternative placements arrangements, but your health and safety will be the first priority and alternative arrangements may not be possible, which may have implications for your study. If you are clinically vulnerable, we strongly encourage you to contact the Disability Advisor now to undertake an assessment.
